2008 "Let Your Hair Down" a HUGE Success!
 
 
 
Thank you to all our guests, volunteers, donors and supporters for making the 3rd Annual "Let Your Hair Down" charity event a HUGE sucess.  We had over 200 attendees and raised over $23,000.00 dollars!

Vicki Kalabokes, President and CEO of NAAF

Ms. Kalabokes has been the CEO of NAAF for over twenty years. She has also served as the co-chair of the Coalition of Patient Advocates for Skin Disease Research, which is comprised of 25 skin disease patient groups. In 1999, Ms. Kalabokes was chosen to be one of the original 20 members of the National Institutes of Health Council of Public Representatives.

Kayla Martell, Miss Georgetown 2008 and Founder of Caps for Yaps

Kayla Martell is an amazing and busy young woman who won the title of Miss Georgetown 2008, DE. She is founder of "Caps for YAP's - Youth Alopecia Patients.  Kayla collects caps, hats, scarves, and bandanas to help young people with alopecia keep their heads warm in winter and cooler in summer.  Since starting in 2006, she has collected over 2,000 items! And yes Kayla, Miss Georgetown, has alopecia areata. But that doesn't stop her one bit.  She is also an Education Major at Long Island University where she started PLEDGE - People Learning to Eliminate Drugs by Gaining Education.

Elwood, The Good Will Ambassador Dog AND star of his own children's book and his owner Karen Quigley 

Elwood is a little dog with an adorable face and a heart of gold who brings laughter and smiles to people everyday. He is a superstar having been on Weekend Today, CNN, The View, The 10 Morning Show and more recently Animal Planet just to name a few.  We had the pleasure of meeting Elwood and his owner Karen at Super Pet Expo and they are truly amazing. Elwood and Karen are doing so much to make the world a beautiful place. From the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event to our Let Your Hair Down event, they are both working to share the message on what love is all about.
